Baby diary: 6 months 2 days
Jun. 15th, 2019 12:00 amAlan's half-birthday! It feels like a milestone. Can't believe it's nearly the solstice, and my leave is half over. ^^;
The book says 26 weeks is a fussy period. Alan does seem to need more reassurance, even as he's becoming more physically able: both yesterday and today he had a sudden meltdown, not angry but frightened and inconsolable, like a panic attack. Yesterday was windy and cold in the stroller, but I don't know about today's. I managed to calm him down with a hot bath, and after that he fed and went to bed as normal.
I should write about food. ( Here are things Alan will eat, or gnaw on: )
( Things Alan does not like eating: )
To be honest, I'm having to come to terms with myself -- I'm a clean plater and abhor food waste, so it stresses me out to let him smear food over his hands and clothes, and I feel quite rejected if he won't eat something I lovingly prepared for him. XD; But I can't get mad at Alan, so I displace my frustration onto struggling with the high-end Italian high chair the neighbours lent me. I have to keep reminding myself that he's actually eating very well for his age.
