A good place to pause for a day or two, it turns out. I had to bear witness to Fuji-niisan kicking some evil Catholic-schoolboy manager arse, or it'd've been insomnia tonight.

(Sports manga does trigger... I can't even call it a gen plot interest. It's whatever it is you get when you're rooting for your team to win. I typically don't experience the fervour unless it's the Olympics, the World Cup, or the Habs on a hot streak, and none of these events occur with overweening frequency these days. -_-;

And no, I wouldn't have the stamina to keep up with it on a weekly basis. It's not like I'd be able to play prediction games based on the moves, like I do in GetBackers. Speaking of which, the Ban == Basara thing is apparently a sign that I'm getting too good at seiyuu typecasting. The other day I said to T in jest, "I just met Crawford at age 14, turns out he plays tennis.")

When I tell my brain I'm not going to write an essay, it turns around and gives me the same thing in aniparo format instead. No, Fuji-kyoudai, you can't pretend to be the Yoshioka. Does this look like a jidaigeki to you?

...I love Fuji. He's just too freaking cute in all his squintiness. And BONUS: he has gorgeous eyes when he opens them.

My roommate thinks that the concept of there being an entire anime series about tennis is absurd, and is prone to going 'Oh god, MORE Prince of Tennis?' in the most amusing way...

Also, I have a really hard time believing all those boys are 14. Echizen looks 14. Everyone ELSE looks 17ish, dammit. I just sort of pretend to myself that every instance of "middle school" is actually a translation error, and feel better...

Nobody believes they're in middle school. *g* That must have been an audience-positioning editorial decision. Reading the first draft yomikiri it turns out that Konomi's first idea was that the settei would be high school, Ryouma would be the antagonist, and Sakuno would have Nanako's design (ouch). Well, if they're trying to make the over-age fangirls feel guilty, it sure as heck backfired...

Fuji-niisan kicks everyone's arse except Tezuka's. And Ryoma, but that's because it always rains when they play and they have to stop. XD

Plus the perennial TeniPuri on Crack Seigaku vocal unit song (Ometto Samba), and the special version of Ryoma's single (better instrumentals than the regular single version). If you want anything else, shout and I'll see if I have it. XD Always ready to sl0re. 'Fraid I don't have MP3s of the chara albums, but if you really wanted them I could burn and ship. ^_^ In return for nothing more than (eventual) fic, or at least your thoughts on some of what I've managed to wank out so far. Bwahaha.

Oh yes, just a note on 'Make You Free' - there are two versions of it used in AniPuri, the one by the female group Hisoca and one by the males (Kimeru), who also sang You Got Game (which everyone hears as You Got Gay intially and falls over their arse snerking). Don't have the Kimeru version, but the Hisoca one is better anyway IMO. XD; Enjoy.

Thankee! ^_^ I've held off on fic by a fingernail so far, but I think I'll start tonight (when I expect to be through to vol.15 or so, and surely that's far enough for fic-reading?).

Sure. XD XD I don't think you'd mind occasional spoiler question marks (like unfamiliar character names etc.) popping up in places, though? But the fandom in general writes intra-team stuff, so there'd be plenty of stuff available.

I recced stuff on my LJ backlogs, if you don't want to hunt through dross at tenipuri_yaoi, and Becky's rec page is at tomomichi. She's big on rabu-rabu and isn't picky about language use the way I am, but there's good stuff she found, too. ^_^v
