Am back! ...Sort of. XD Will still be busy for the duration of the week, but close(r) to the computer.
MUTEK, the bad (may as well lance the bubble of CAPSLOCK RAGE to begin with): missed Lawrence - twice! He was supposed to DJ Friday evening but his plane from New York was grounded due to bad weather (the same low-pressure system that moved over Montreal overnight, forcing the first Piknic event indoors). However he apparently arrived in town Saturday, then Interstellar Collective didn't show so they shifted the Metropolis lineup around and gave Lawrence the 9:30PM slot. Which I promptly missed since I had to eat and shower and how was I supposed to know. T_T When I got to Metropolis and figured this out I was so ARGH for a few minutes that I... misplaced my umbrella.
orz
At least it had stopped raining by the time I left the show, so I didn't catch cold from getting soaked or anything like that. And there's always Youtube! :P
Also missed Thomas Brinkmann (went home by last metro *audience hisses and boos*), but am less sorry about that since I've never heard anything involving Brinkmann in any capacity and my reasons for wanting to catch his set were 1) everyone says he's awesome and 2) his record label is called Max Ernst. Under less stamina-trying circumstances point 2 alone should be enough to guarantee attendance. I'm glad I played it safe to the point of l4m3rtude, though, because it meant I was at my physical best for Hawtin & Villalobos in the park the next afternoon, and I'm now reasonably certain no show will ever, ever beat Hawtin & Villalobos in the park for five hours on a sunny, breezy Sunday afternoon in June.
( Friday: living the straight edge, record buyers of indeterminate sex, Denver, Colorado represents )
( Saturday: rain, alpha waving at the SAT, preschooler warehouse party )
( Sunday: trance sunset, Ricardo molests Richie, 19 out of 20 girls in the front row approve )
Holy crap, it took me ages to write this post. XD Comments please!
