More August music

Last.fm/Audioscrobbler's had a site redesign. The account now includes a musicblog functionality: you can use bb code to link Last.fm artist/song streaming pages as you namedrop, upon which said artist/song page will also ping back to your post. As an example, here's mine. I thought I'd repost some of my more coherent music-related items, mp3s included, so if any of you wanted to rec my friendslocked stuff to lj-less people... I dunno. Do people do that? XD I do, but my friends rarely listen to me anyhow.

Mind you I just tried to update the thing and it ate my post. >_> We shall see.

Meme o' day

List five of your own idiosyncrasies (tagged by incandescens):

1) I couldn't read a map (in the sense of visualising how it corresponded to a 3D environment) until I was twelve. I could read for a year before I stopped mixing up left and right. I'm still not so hot at orienting myself, and frequently get turned around by entering a store and leaving it.

2) I have a high "comfort zone" when it comes to room temperature. Most people I know feel comfortable at 18-21C. I feel comfortable at 25-26C. Yes, I live in Canada. Yes, I am cold pretty much all the time. Yes, I am the asshat who turned the AC off while no one was looking.

3) I don't own a wallet. I wad all my bills into a coin purse, and don't carry ID or cards around unless I know in advance I'm going to need them.

4) I feel extremely uncomfortable about letting food go to waste. If we're at a restaurant together and you don't finish your plate, I won't hold it against you or anything, but chances are I will try to finish it for you. ^^;

5) I'm a boring drunk insofar as I act like I'm sober.

I wrote 700 words of my SSBB story. It's not what I wanted to do before, nor what I wanted to do before that. ^^; Well, hopefully I shall finish this iteration at any rate. I suspect I have trouble loving my own characters - they are too much me and not enough other people.

Semi-Mirage-related, I guess

While googling for more historical-geographical kitties (there is a Katou Kiyomasa kitty!) I somehow ended up on this page of spurious Sengoku personage biographies, owned by a self-proclaimed joshikousei. Dude, I can only choose to believe that she's top of her class in Japanese history, because it'd be pretty tragic otherwise.

I am linking this primarily because I was EXACTLY THAT KIND OF NERD in high school. More European history and mythology and whatnot, obviously, but pretty much.
