And by the way

joliefolie. Friend her, as you are obviously not bored enough with me talking about her constantly! Write her a Godric/Salazar drabble! Uhh - marvel at her white ferret icon!
My sister grabbed a bunch of Johnny Depp scans from the latest GQ (which I'd already seen, because I go out and flip through actual paper magazines at actual newsstands), in order to make a layout. "Look," she says, pointing to something I hadn't paid attention to. "His arm."
"...Now that's dedication," I said.
Thinking it over carefully, though, I honestly can't think of a better reason to get a tattoo. I don't even have pierced ears, so take it that I don't grok the pain-for-the-sake-of-decoration thing, or possibly decoration-for-the-sake-of-pain - to me the damn things really have to symbolise, not just look neat. And... YMMV, but there isn't much in a life that needs to be inked in. If it endures, it needs no reminder; if it doesn't endure, letting it go is generally the best course to take. Saves you from having to get it removed afterward.
A role, though, for an actor: living in someone else's skin for six months or a year, thinking their thoughts, speaking their words, crying their tears. That I could see, wanting some permanent memento of that.
It's kind of funny, in fact, because a number of the actors I like are all over tattoos. Depp, Angelina Jolie, Ekin Cheng even, if he counts. XD In all cases they've managed to turn them from bugs to features, in the sense that not only does it seem perfectly reasonable that they should have them, but it seems perfectly reasonable that their characters should have them as well. One can spot a few of Johnny Depp's in PotC. It's only a matter of time before someone writes them into fic...
