Was anyone else EXTREMELY WIGGED OUT by 221c Baker Street?
Or is it just me?
I mean, fine, nerves are something that happens to people other than the denizens of 221b, so the characters' lack of concern with the fact that there is a mouldy, creepily abandoned, previously unnoticed apartment underneath theirs that has been broken into at least once by a psycho stalker evil genius who left souvenirs... is not remarkable. Although I would definitely lose sleep over that shit. But it's not the in-story role of the thing that makes it nightmare fuel to rival any of Moffat's one-extra-person-in-the-room NuWhovian fakeouts. No, no: it's the subtlest canon tweak effect of all.
Because
221c Baker Street
is like
the stunted twin
no one remembers
it
should
not
exist
Goddammit it is basically the apartment equivalent of The Other Sadako. Just seeing the door plate gave me the willies.
