The fact that Erol Alkan is one half of Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve!

Midlake - Roscoe (acoustic)
Midlake - Roscoe (Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve remix)

What I am learning: anything that sounds like late-seventies Fleetwood Mac (including actual Fleetwood Mac) works really well when the dance dudes come in and strip the guitar lines to make space. Question is, where are the Rilo Kiley remixes in this style?

This made me laugh:

I can never decide if it's a good thing when guys like Erol Alkan or James Ford produce indie bands. That is, I can't decide if the indie albums are better off for it, and if so, what it means if society as a whole is (presumably) trading off blog house to get value-added indie. XD;

Have you ever watched the British Beavis and Butthead? (The name of the show is escapting me right now.) That's what that YouTube video reminds me of.

blog house is the actual name of an actual genre of music? Really?

It kind of depends on what you mean by "actual". XD No in the sense that you wouldn't file a piece of music as that in iTunes, but yes in the sense that people who get their music off blogs will mostly know what you're talking about. (It's a pejorative, unless the fans have reclaimed the term.)
