September stuff ppl didn't tell me about, prolly cos they expected ME to tell THEM

TGIF, am counting down the hours before I can go off to score a copy of the new William Gibson. XD There are interviews, too; arguably the best bit in the book promotion cycle, since Gibson's interviews have a years-long shelf date and in any case no one ever comes to Montreal to do readings.

Oh, and the new Superpitcher album! Please do not make the tactical error I did and first-listen to the "Black Magic" one while reading NC17 fanfictions, rolling.

Superpitcher - Joanna by Numinots.com

"Joanna" is pretty - it starts with a midtempo 4/4 piano and hovers for quite a while in what I think of as the default indie pop limbo, now, where you listen for (minor all told!) differences of texture in the voices and drums to situate you as to whether this is 'indie rock' piano or 'Balearic house' piano - it's probably not 'hip-hop sample' piano - and slowly layers up and becomes more intricate and ever-prettier without sacrificing spaciousness. Eventually you clue in that this is the 'Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve remix' piano, like Superpitcher had meant to make his own Ritournelle-style ObNindie album ender and then thought No, no, I can go one step better on this.

EDIT -- I hate to come back to the point but... do Koreans use any other social network than CyWorld? XD; (I mean, I suspect a lot of the heavy cultural-equivalent lifting is done by MMORPGs, but.)

...Hubertus Bigend is to me what Gordon Gekko is to first-year finance-stream MBAs, sorta.

I think some of them use FB? But those are mostly the international-school kids...

What was the network Tari was using? CyWorld?

Coming on this really late, but yes, everyone is on Cyworld.

Actually, there are huge forum communities on all the portal sites (Naver, Daum, Nate, etc.), but I guess those aren't precisely social networking sites.
