I keep thinking of stuff I should have brought up in the 30 days of fanfic meme and forgot
I swear to bob if I ever write XM:FC fanfiction, it will be in two parts from Charles' and Erik's POVs and they will be respectively titled "Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis" and "Bohr-van Leeuwen Theorem". Because BOTH POINT OUT SOMETHING WRONG do you see
IDK, I keep expecting someone to write the fic where Charles is all "yes with practice you'll be able to move larger objects" while internally he's like "oh fuckballs quantum mechanics FABRIC OF REALITY, ok ok Xavier play it cool". It's sort of like in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure where the statement of the power tends to be ridiculous: like Bruno does not quote "create zippers" unquote. But it makes for a pleasing symmetry because Charles's power is also quantums. In fact they may be aspects of the same power. Math is weird.
Basically my ideas for the fandom boil down to "side-eying the science handwave, forever".

(I turn my brain off for Marvel. It helps, some. I have yet to figure out how to turn my brain off completely though, sigh, which means periodically shrieking and clutching my head in agony.)

I don't read the comics themselves, mostly, I have friends who do that for me. XD; Then I just ask them questions, because I'm pretty sure any idea I can come up with has been done canonically over the course of 50 years, short of the ones that are really not PG13. (eg. "Has anyone ever offered to put, like, lasers or a rocket launcher or something on Charles Xavier's wheelchair?" Ans: "Yeah, that space princess he was banging once")
