Oh and

THE PHASERS LOOK LIKE GLUE GUNS. "Don't look yet, but the security detail really went Martha Stewart on that hostile alien lifeform." I had to go to ThinkGeek to figure out that there was a ray-emitting bit that was detachable, and that was what Kirk used in those episodes where he was nuking androids and stuff with a garage door remote. (But garage door remotes hadn't been invented yet, right? I'll stop soon, I promise.)

I have to admit, my favorite part of 'the cave' is when Vina or whatever her name was comes in and you're like, Yep, dudes called the costume department and asked to borrow the nearest thing to a medieval costume they had for a chick.

Although I'm getting to be very fond of the backdrops. It's like, I don't know, one of those Shakespeare productions done minimalistic.

It seems they've been around since at least 1958.

Oh, the phasers WERE glue guns. Borrowed straight from the makeup department after they were finished with them. That's how some of the alien costumes were done. ^_^ Ah, poor ST:TOS with its' dated special effects...
