Full disclosure: I associate a lot of Pete Doherty's music with, er, the Potterverse ^^;;. Even more so with in the case of Fog on the Tyne. The association is in the self-conscious, stylised constructions of Britishness, not that these are even similar one to the other, but. Trouble is a lot of this is also MY LIFE OMG (the cultural setting, not the magic-wielding and heroin addiction. ...I'm sure you needed that clarification XD) which fuzzes the issue somewhat.
