Well, Kipling, Housman etc. are terribly di-dum di-dum, I'm not going to argue with that. XD I encounter modern metered poems that I like often enough to know it isn't a lost cause, but they do tend to be single poems and not bodies of work.
I like Dylan Thomas, Edna St. Vincent Millay and others (broadly speaking) of that generation. To be honest there's a wide swathe of the 19th century that doesn't do much for me - post-Blake and pre-Swinburne. ^^;
