Writing a story about Captain America and... not discussing my concept of America.

These ideas probably need to be broken up among several conversations/characters hahaaaa orz this wasn't supposed to be a manifesto I swear, I'm Canadian.

I'm having some problems with this, tbh, the Ideas(tm) are outpacing the plot structure. XD; I really don't want to have to make a supervillain attack New York or whatever passes for plot in these things.

Also, I'm glad I actually like Brubaker's writing, because dude is apparently my plot brain twin.

Can't you just make the plot be SHIELD internal organization politics? That's more your kind of thing anyway (and it's something the movie didn't flesh out very much).

Wikipedia says that before he was given the power to kill Capt America off and bring him back to life, he wrote a lot of stuff about semi-normal people getting embroiled in extreme situations? (But something he's working on now seems like the opposite if that, a superpowered sociopath who has to pretend to be normal.)

TBH opportunities for discussing The Meaning Of A Country don't come up very often IRL anyway so I think you'd be excused. But yeah the usual suspects are things like putting out a new pamphlet/organizing a big shindig/dealing with protestors who have excellent points (not that SHIELD doesn't have points of its own). Or, you know, Road Trip Through The USA, although I seem to remember some fic already covered that territory, as it were.

Yeah, there is fic like that XD Steve doing the Easy Rider thing like basically 50 years late.

I should probably park this chapter until I can plot outward some more but what fun is that...

I should really look it up. When I read the Young Avengers stuff I kept thinking "this could be the best teen TV series ever," and then I realized it was, like, written by the dude who wrote and produced The O.C., bawling. Like the fortes of the thing were obviously likeable teens + family drama, the actual superhero plot bits were sort of... whatever... but then I always think that.

Well, now that I've seen The Avengers I don't think they stick very close to SHIELD post-movie, is the thing. XD It was one of the things I had to edit for.

That being said, you can about predict what happens in Marvel Movieverse at this point, because all signs point to WEEKLY JUMP LOGIC. As follows:

-- Iron Man 3 is the post-arc hero's upgrade storyline (since Tony is the Red Ranger, for good or for ill)
--Thor 2... I actually think is meant to settle the character arc with Thor and Loki, which signally wasn't done in The Avengers, but my guess it'll be the proper intro of next mega villain + next McGuffin as well
--Guardians of the Galaxy is the post-arc allies intro, i.e. like the Visoreds in Bleach
--Captain America 2 is the post-arc character backstory stuff, i.e. what all the fangirls actually suffered through the fights in Bleach for
--Avengers 2: basically, the tournament arc.

So maybe I could just, like... make a bunch of predictions and see if I look like a complete genius in 2014 or if I'm totally beyond the pale. XDD
